How To Extend Your Present Wardrobe

Blog

Do you find yourself going to a closet full of clothes and feeling that you don't have anything to wear? If your budget won't allow you go shop for a totally new wardrobe, don't worry. Maybe you can extend your wardrobe by just tweaking things a bit. Here are some ideas that might help you end up with some attractive ensembles.

First Things First - Begin by culling out clothes that you know for sure you will never wear. Don't be hasty, though. Take time to try things on and give them a second look.

  • Perhaps you have always worn a peasant blouse with your broomstick skirt. Now try it with a tunic blouse, add a rhinestone belt and you might have something for dressier occasions. Wearing cute sandals with the peasant blouse combination gives your outfit a fun and casual look. However, if you wear dressy flats with the tunic outfit, you now have something to wear for fancy occasions.
  • Have you always saved particular items of clothing for wintertime use? Unless they are extremely warm, consider pairing them with summer sandals and different accessories and you'll have a new summer outfit. On the other hand, you might have slacks or a skirt that you have only worn during the summer months. Consider wearing them with a scarf or a sweater, add stylish boots, and you now have something different to add to your winter wardrobe.
  • The right accessories can definitely give your present clothes a new look. For instance, a simple black dress worn with crystal chandelier earrings and a crystal necklace and sophisticated high heels will be perfect for a night on the town. Now, try that same dress with classic pearl jewelry and dressy pumps and you're ready for church or a luncheon. Choose chunky, colorful plastic jewelry and sandals with that exact same dress and you have a fun and casual ensemble.

Since the different shoes are such an important part of extending your wardrobe, you might have to do some shopping. Consider buying your new shoes online. It's easy! Just order the size you usually wear and you should be fine. However, if for some reason the shoes don't work out for you, no problem. Just use the packing information to return or exchange them. Once you order shoes online you'll probably begin receiving catalogs with new arrivals and the company's basic stock. Look for sales and free shipping. You may never buy shoes in a store again!

Have fun planning your new wardrobe.

Accessories Complete Your Outfit

Hi. My name is Candy Lewis. I’m a stay at home mom in my mid-thirties. Taking care of my children and our home can wear me down. Sometimes I’m exhausted to the point of not caring what I look like when I leave the house. However, when I do have the time to put an outfit together, I depend heavily on accessories to complete the look. I have learned that I can have an ordinary sweater on but when adding a necklace it turns into an extraordinary look. Jewelry, handbags, belts, shoes and hats can all finish off an outfit. I’m happy to share some of my accessorizing tips with you. Some are very simple. I feel ten years younger when I take a cute little over the shoulder handbag and sling it over my head and shoulder. I hope you find my tips to be of interest!
