If you are a bookworm, or if you are engaged to someone who loves to read, consider throwing a library-themed wedding. These fun and tasteful weddings implement elements of a library into the party, in a unique way that has a slightly-vintage flavor.
Try the following ideas at your library-themed celebration:
A beautiful wedding dress. For your library or book-themed wedding, many different styles of wedding dresses will work. Check out shorter dresses in ivory or white lace and consider a hat instead of a veil for a contemporary look that fits the occasion. Choose bold, classic colors for the wedding party, such as black, navy, and sepia with unique, book-themed accessories like printed ties or tiny book jewelry to complete the look.
A fitting guest book. Set-up a table by the door of your venue for a dictionary guest book. Have guests look up a word that fits them best, and sign their name and wedding message nearby. This makes a wonderful keepsake of a special day.
Text table treatments. Cover your venue tables with loose-pages of the couple's favorite books. These table treatments are so clever, and super-cheap, as you can often find the perfect pages at a thrift store or library book sale.
Bookish centerpieces. Create cute book centerpieces using the Dewey Decimal system for numbering each table. Stack a few hardcover books in the center of the table and add fresh flowers, greens, or other foliage. Use a place-card holder to display the Dewey Decimal number for guests to easily find their assigned seat.
Library book invites. Construct library book invitations for your guests that require them to pull-out the library card from a sleeve to see the details of your upcoming nuptials. Find some easy-to-make ideas online, or order specialty invitations from area printers.
Perfect paper flowers. Make paper flowers for the lapels of the wedding party and whip-up some paper flower bouquets for the bridesmaids. These will keep forever and really help to echo your library theme.
An on-site writer. Hire an on-site poet or writer with a typewriter to create quick and personal keepsakes for guests. Advertise locally for someone to attend and type-out wedding day poems or narratives for each person to take home with them. This works well at a rehearsal dinner or reception.
Party favor bookmarks. Order commemorative bookmarks for party favors from a print-shop or online printing service. Customize with the couple's name, date of the event, and a photo for a keepsake that sticks to your library theme.
Use these ideas to throw a lavish library-themed wedding that will be remembered by all who attend. Visit vendors and party supply stores to find the elements you need and dig around in your own library! Come up with your own clever ways to reflect the theme, from the bridal gown to the party favors, and share your love of books with guests.Share

Hi. My name is Candy Lewis. I’m a stay at home mom in my mid-thirties. Taking care of my children and our home can wear me down. Sometimes I’m exhausted to the point of not caring what I look like when I leave the house. However, when I do have the time to put an outfit together, I depend heavily on accessories to complete the look. I have learned that I can have an ordinary sweater on but when adding a necklace it turns into an extraordinary look. Jewelry, handbags, belts, shoes and hats can all finish off an outfit. I’m happy to share some of my accessorizing tips with you. Some are very simple. I feel ten years younger when I take a cute little over the shoulder handbag and sling it over my head and shoulder. I hope you find my tips to be of interest!
